Sam Hossack

Sam Hossack is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Waterloo’s History Department, researching the international and domestic influences on the Canadian government’s Indigenous land policies between 1948-82. She is passionate about policy development and understanding the relationships between the development process and policy outcomes, particularly in the north. Sam holds a Masters of Strategic Studies from the University of Calgary and began engaging with questions about Canadian and NATO Arctic security as a NATO Council of Canada junior research fellow in 2013. Sam is an active member of her community, serving as an historian on Kitchener’s municipal heritage committee, and teaching and performing improvised theatre.
