Anna Soer

NAADSN Research Fellow

Anna Soer is a PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa. Her research focusses on renewable energy development and knowledge governance in Nunavut, Canada. She holds a MSc from Radboud University, Netherlands, in human geography with a specialization in conflicts and territories, and a BA in English literature from the Université Bordeaux-Montaigne, France. In addition to her doctoral research, her interests also include white (femininity) supremacy and North American and Arctic colonialism, Northern (energy) development, circumpolar cooperation, and Arctic human security. She is also currently employed as research assistant for the Rebuilding First Nation Governance project at the University of Carleton.

Additionally, she is currently serving as the Vice-President of the Environmental Studies Association of Canada and as the co-Editor in Chief of Potentia, the graduate student journal of the Centre for International Policy Studies at the University of Ottawa. She is also affiliated with the North American and Arctic Defence and Security Network, the Observatoire de la politique et la sécurité de l’Arctique, the Geographic Indigenous Futures Collaboratory, and Le Comité national français des recherches arctiques et antarctiques.
