Dr. Abdellah Chehri
He is the Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Internet of Everything (IoE) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Public Safety, reflecting his leadership in advancing resilient communication infrastructures, intelligent transportation systems, mission-critical IoT applications, and drone-based technologies for safety and mobility. Dr. Chehri has served in many international conference and workshop program committees, and has held editorial roles as guest and associate editor for several highly reputed journals (IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, ACM).
He plays a leading role in the IEEE Public Safety Technology (PST) Initiative, where he serves as Co-Chair of the Transportation Committee, as well as the Standards and Publications Committees, and contributes to the IEEE RoadMAP initiative.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE and an active member of multiple IEEE societies, including the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS), and the IEEE Photonics Society. He is also part of the IEEE VTS Committee on Drones and the IEEE VTS Committee on Space-Air-Ground-Water Integrated Communication Systems, contributing to advancing research and standards in unmanned aerial systems and integrated communication infrastructures. In addition, he is a founding member of the Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) Committee on AI-Driven Integration of Terrestrial and Non-Terrestrial Networks (AITNTN), where he contributes to the development of next-generation architectures that unify satellite, aerial, and ground-based communication systems.
