MayArctic Pan-Domain Effects Workshop 2
In 2024, NAADSN hosted the first Arctic Pan-Domain Effects Workshop, bringing together practitioners and academics to help inform the creation of Canadian Armed Forces’ (CAF) operational-level plans for the Canadian Arctic. Two years later, that work has proved crucial in the revision and writing of the Canadian Armed Forces’ Operation NANOOK Framework Plan, an expansive near-persistent operation that spans the Canadian North.
Now, NAADSN, in partnership with the CAF, looks again to create an opportunity of collaboration, revisiting the Arctic Pan-Domain Effects Workshop to this time assess the changes over the last two years to the threat environment in and to the Arctic. As defined as the threats are that might pass through the Arctic, as understood as our concerns are for what security trends are occurring at the moment, we ask the question of “what truly are the plausible threat scenarios in and to the Arctic in the case of a global hostilities? What would indicate those threats? And what do we need to do now in order to prepare?”
