The NAADSN Ideas Series presents “NATO at 75,” a virtual month-long series (via MS Teams) dedicated to the 75^th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The importance of the collective defence alliance has been revived since Russia’s full invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Canada was an original signatory of the Treaty in 1949, making significant contributions and commitments in Korea, the Balkans, Afghanistan, and Latvia. Canada, and North America’s, role in multilateral transatlantic security has been reinvigorated amidst the current international security environment marked by the return of strategic competition.

The North and American and Arctic Defence and Security Network is pleased to welcome scholars and practitioners to discuss the past, present, and future of Canada’s role in NATO in the lead-up to 75^thanniversary celebrations of the Washington Treaty on 4 April 2024.
