Daniel Alaniz Rodriguez

Luis Daniel Alaniz Rodriguez is an Instructor in the Department of Indigenous Studies at the University of Winnipeg and a Research Assistant in the Department of Political Science at the University of Manitoba, where he contributes to the CRC project on Indigenous Governance and Digital Sovereignties. His research focuses on political sociology, Indigenous rights and autonomies. His work engages critically with questions of constitutionalism, sovereignty, and socio-environmental conflict, especially in relation to community-led resistance. Daniel has also worked in public policy and community engagement, including roles at the local level of government in Mexico focused on the human right to water. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico and is currently pursuing an MA in Political Studies at the University of Manitoba.
