Benjamin Johnson received his Ph.D. in Political Science from York University in 2023. He will be an Assistant Professor of International Relations and Humane Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, starting September 2023. Benjamin’s research focuses on surveillance and technology in the Canadian Arctic. Benjamin was a Fulbright scholar and a recipient of a Doctoral Scholarship from the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) under the Mobilizing Insights for National Defence (MINDS) program. He has also worked for the Government of Canada at Infrastructure Canada (INFC) and the Privy Council Office (PCO).
