George Cade
Research Fellow
George Cade is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Victoria, studying Political Science and History. He is an alumnus of the NATO Field School and Simulation Program, where he wrote a research paper discussing Canadian Arctic security and NATO’s role in the Arctic.
George has also completed various NATO simulation exercises, having been awarded “Best Political Counsellor” at the NATO Young Leaders Summit simulation in Brussels, and the “Leadership in Committee Award” at the 39th International Model NATO Conference in Washington, DC.
He recently completed an internship at the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome, where he contributed to the effective deliverance of the Senior Course. During his time at the NDC, George was able to further develop his understanding of Arctic security while being able to interact with experts on the topic, both from European and North American perspectives.
George’s current research interests revolve around Russia and China’s growing partnership and their collective interest in the Arctic region, Canadian Arctic sovereignty and defence, and NATO’s role in the Arctic.
