Lin Alexandra Mortensgaard
NAADSN Research Fellow
Lin Alexandra Mortensgaard is a PhD Candidate at the Danish Institute for International Studies and at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen. In her PhD project Lin researches the interplay between international politics and climate change research in an Arctic context. Focusing on how climate change research happens in the Arctic, who carries out this research and under what conditions, Lin is interested in the process of knowledge production and how it is linked to international political dynamics and priorities.
In addition, Lin focuses on security and defense politics in the Arctic and North Atlantic. She has co-authored a number of policy reports, policy briefs and book chapters focusing on the changing security politics of the Arctic, the increasing focus of the US on the Arctic, renewed deterrence logics in the region, and the consequences of this for the complicated intra-realm politics of the ‘Rigsfællesskab’ (Denmark-Greenland-Faroe Islands).
