Madison Lipson

NAADSN Fellow
Madison Lipson is a defense and foreign policy professional specializing in North American security, critical minerals, and defense industrial integration. As a Program Associate at the Wilson Center’s Canada Institute, she lead the Institute’s defense and energy portfolios, shaping research and programming on continental defense, strategic infrastructure, and the role of critical minerals in national security. Madison has worked closely with officials from NORAD and USNORTHCOM through joint briefings and research initiatives focused on cross-border military cooperation and homeland defense.

Madison analyzes the intersection of geopolitics, supply chains, and economic security. Her prior experience includes roles at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), where she co-authored the Top 100 Arms-Producing Companies report, and at General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada, where she coordinated with the Canadian Department of National Defence.

She holds a Master of Global and International Studies from the Universidad de Salamanca and a BA in International Relations and Spanish from the University of Western Ontario. Her published work includes analysis on private equity in the defense sector and transparency in the arms industry.
