Nicolas Kempf

Nicolas Kempf is a PhD candidate at the Université de Montréal, under the supervision of Pr. Suzanne Lalonde. Nicolas’ research examines Antarctica’s deep seabed legal regime, and is hence at the crossroads of various international law streams, including law of the sea, international environmental law, and polar law. Nicolas has published on various issues related to the law of the sea and polar environments. He has recently completed a summer residency at the Center for International Governance Innovation, in Waterloo. Nicolas received his MA in International Law from Université de Nantes, France, and had previously graduated in Law from Université de Strasbourg, France.
