Sasha Tiaglei
Sasha Tiaglei is a 4th year Honours student at the University of Manitoba, pursuing a double major in Political Studies and Central/East European Studies. She is currently a student fellow at the University’s Centre for Defence and Security Studies (CDSS) and a research assistant at the Centre for Ukrainian Canadian Studies (CUCS).
Sasha’s professional interests include international defence, security and diplomacy, with a focus on North America, and (primarily Eastern) Europe. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she has contributed to several research projects and conferences related to these themes. This work has included topics such as international sanctions, Arctic and maritime security and defence, the United Nations, and the experiences of Ukrainian refugees following the 2022 invasion.
